SAP Concur Fusion Exchange - A Huge Success in Shanghai
Shanghai, China – November 19, 2019 – SAP SE (NYSE: SAP) today held the inaugural SAP® Concur® Fusion Exchange in Shanghai, China. Themed Harnessing Digital Transformation and Embarking Intelligent Journey, the event tailors the top-rated content from SAP Concur Fusion, the flagship event for SAP Concur solutions, and brings it to China for the first time. Close to 600 industry opinion leaders, ecosystem partners and financial management executives gathered to hear from industry leaders and SAP global and local executives on how to accelerate digital transformation to build the Intelligent Enterprise.
Chris Juneau, SAP Concur Sr. Vice President, Global Cloud Strategic Programs, gave a keynote on the topic of accelerating financial digital transformation to build intelligent enterprises and emphasized the concept of the Intelligent Spend Management, “Intelligent spend management brings together every source of spending. We capture the data, no matter the source, and that includes helping find ‘invisible spend.’ Our mission – our purpose – is to help organizations run better and ultimately improve people’s lives. Helping organizations use data to make better decisions is one of the ways we do that.”
Focused on how companies can harness digital transformation to pave the way for an intelligent future, Andy Watson, Senior Vice President & General Manager, Asia Pacific and Greater China, SAP Concur, highlighted the need for enterprises to leverage technology to automate areas such as expense, travel and invoice management in the face of the changing global and domestic economic landscape. Jeff Lam, General Manager of SAP Concur Greater China, also stressed that increasingly more companies in China are looking for ways to gain better visibility on their corporate spend and bring data from different sources into one unified view. “SAP Concur is committed to helping companies implement intelligent spend management with continued investment in R&D, best-in-class solutions, a broad ecosystem,” said Jeff, “We helps customers manage employee spend, make intelligent use of their business data to improve traveler experiences, give managers the tools and control they need and provide administrators with the insights to drive their businesses forward, compliance to reduce risk, and the data they need to provide duty of care.”
The event also provided plenty of opportunities to learn from SAP Concur customers as they share their best-in-class cases of how they are leveraging SAP Concur solutions to help them achieve their business objectives. Three representatives of pharmaceutical enterprises discussed the new approach to drive financial digital transformation with intelligent spend management at the customer panel session. In addition, Fang Jiqin, CEO of Ctrip Corporate Travel and SVP of Trip.com Group, an SAP Concur ecosystem partner, discussed the impact of financial digitalization on the integrated business travel experience.
In the afternoon, the event featured two parallel tracks with the respective themes: “finance digital transformation and global expansion”, and “ensuring compliance and risk management”. In addition to Peter Elmgren, SAP Concur Senior Vice President of Global Business Development and A.G. Lambert, SAP Concur Senior Vice President, Spend Product Strategy, the impressive lineup of keynote speakers included five SAP Concur ecosystem partners – the executives of EY, VAT IT, Didi Chuxing, HRS and Ele.me. In line with the themes of the two tracks, the partners shared their finance digital transformation experiences and how their efforts have led their enterprise to go- global successfully, while ensuring compliance and risk management by integrating with SAP Concur solutions. Meanwhile, we also emphasized the advantages of global consolidation for travel and spend management. The results of a new SAP Concur survey revealing the challenges that employees in Greater China Region face while traveling was also announced at the event. The study found that safety is the top priority for Greater China business travelers when they are on the road. Although they embrace online booking tools and services, they believe that business travel is not getting easier or less stressful.
“Societal issues and employee experiences are increasingly impacting the way we travel. With these shifts come new expectations from traveling staff that shouldn’t go unnoticed.” said Andy Watson, Senior Vice President & General Manager for Asia Pacific and Greater China, SAP Concur. “Employees in China, in particular, are looking for a safe and seamless experience when they go on business trips and want guidance and better technology to help them alleviate common hindrances.
